About

Christ Central Presbyterian Church (CCPC) started as an English Ministry  (EM) of Korean Central Presbyterian Church (KCPC) in Fairfax County, Virginia almost two decades ago. It was created in response to a trend  among second generation Korean-Americans who, despite their Christian upbringing, ultimately cut off ties to all churches. In its inception, CCPC consisted primarily of the young adult children of KCPC members who were more comfortable in an English-speaking environment than in the  Korean-speaking services of the mother church. Now, however, CCPC openly welcomes people from all backgrounds and currently enjoys a greater diversity.

Initially without a lead pastor, CCPC conducted services with the help  of guest pastors. Then CCPC called its first pastor, Ray Chang,  in 1993, who helped established some of the church’s core values (community groups, Bible study). Through the years, various pastors have come and gone, each using his particular gift to develop the body in a different way. In addition, the church has been blessed with many dedicated lay leaders who have labored to spur the congregation members to become more like Christ Jesus.

Through God’s grace, CCPC has grown in size and maturity so that it is now on its way to becoming a fully autonomous church. Nevertheless, it maintains a close partnership with KCPC in the mutual commitment to  reach many different people groups with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Both churches have grown to the extent that the current  facilities can no longer accommodate both congregations. Thus, both churches moved to Centreville in the summer of 2010.
